Equus 3030 Innova Diagnostic Code Reader for OBDII (Post-1996) Vehicles

After the check engine light went on in my car, I decided that I would purchase this reader instead of paying the mechanic near me $55 dollars to plug their OBDII Reader in. Once I received it, I immediatly plugged it into my cars OBDII Plug and received the engine error code in just a few seconds. I did some quick research online which told me to simply reset the OBD and drive another 100 miles and see if the check engine light comes up again. After Driving the 100+ miles I plugged the reader in again showing that the diagnostic tests ran again, and this time the car came up clean. This device has easily paid for itself and then some. Would definitly recommend this to anyone before they go to their mechanic.

The Equus 3030 OBD II did what it's supposed to do. It gave me 2 problem codes on a Mazda MPV. I am not a mechanic so the P---- explanations on the manual have to be presented to your repair shop. It seems the problem is the catalytic converter or the oxygen sensor. The vehicle is 8 years old. Hopefully that is the only problem. I tested it on a car that has no "check engine" light on and it gave me nothing.
The shipping was fine. It arrived within a few days.
4 stars because I do not know how reliable this product is. Maybe after 10 years and I'm still using it, I'd come to this review and add another star.

I bought this unit a couple of months ago because my 2006 Miata MX5 had a recurrent check engine light that kept turning out to be a gas cap problem. Since I live almost 40 miles from the dealer I decided to reset the computer myself. It worked perfectly. I have also used it on a 2002 Tahoe and a 2004 Silverado diesel. It also came in handy when my daughter wanted to buy a used 2005 Tahoe and the unit showed that fuse was blown which the dealer promptly replaced.

Great Bang for the Buck. Has worked on Everything so far. Not real advanced but it does exactly what you need it to do.
