CST 5791 Locking Fuel Cap

After getting my gas sucked out of my tank last year, I bought this item through amazon.com. It works great (knock on wood) and I have no more worries. It fits fine and is quick and easy to use. Fits cars, vans, and trucks.

I purchased this product to prevent tampering with vehicle (impurities in the gas tank) and possible theft of gas. As advertised, this model fit both my Chrysler LHS and my dad's Chevy Silverado perfectly.

The gas cap comes with two small silver keys, each labeled "GAS" that lock and unlock your gas cap. Essentially, when your gas cap is "locked", the outer part spins freely without loosening the cap. When you "unlock" it, it engages and you can unscrew the cap.

I was a bit disappointed that you have to actually relock the cap with the key in order to secure the cap again, but the extra five seconds this takes is a small price for the peace of mind of knowing that your vehicle, gas, and personal safety are a bit more protected.

I was a little worried after reading some of the less than positive reviews, however, after receiving my own there was nothing to worry about.
This gas cap works perfectly. It provides a better seal to the tank than my original cap ever did, it locks and unlocks in a snap and it fit my car perfectly. I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a better cap than their original one and/or someone who wants to protect their gas from being siphoned.

The cap works, my only complaint is that you must use the key to lock it as well as unlock it. I was thinking it would automatically lock when tightened like one I had in the past but I can deal with manually locking it.

the cap is mostly black. the part that screws into your car is bright red. it matches my car which is cool. however, my gas opening is at an angle. this makes releasing the lock a bit tricky because you also have to hold the cap from spinning as you unlock and turn the key. i was hoping for a special type of quick-key, but it is just a mini version of a normal car key. recommended if you value your gas.
