Black & Decker TC212B Travel Cooler & Warmer

Before retiring I drove a tractor trailer cross country for over 20 years, and used a similar but larger chest cooler nearly all that time. These things work great if you use them properly. Unless you want to wait a long time for things to cool down,you must cool items down before putting them in the cooler. Also if you cool the inside of the cooler first,that would help even more. Try using Techni Ice packs on top of what you have in the cooler,they work great even in a regular cooler."Lasts over twice as long as ice or gel packs". A trick I learned was to bungee my cooler on the passenger seat and direct my AC vent at the fan side of it, that will keep it super cold inside. A nice feature on this cooler is the low battery cutoff, most coolers do not have this. I'm not sure I would leave the cooler running for a long period of time, without the engine running with the hope it will shut off when the battery gets low. But it is good to know it is there if you forget to turn the cooler off. If traveling a converter is a must if you need to keep things cold in a motel.It does not have to be a B&D converter,any converter will work as long as it has a cig. lighter recepter. Hard to believe,if used properly things will actually freeze if left in long enough. This cooler works well,it is also quite sturdy and very nice looking.
